Update:

Dauphin Island residents have been heard. The plan is now for 6 spots on Raphael Semmes Ct. Thanks to everyone for your efforts to prevent the creation of a third public beach in the middle of our neighborhood.

Oddly enough, the President of the DIPOA  maintains that this was never the plan, and that the plan I copied below "looks amateurish" . . . .

Well, this is the actual plan drawn by the Committee named to determine the parking arrangement, faxed to me by Town Hall.

It has come to our attention that some people are being told by Town Hall that the plan is not for 34 spots, but only for 6 or 8. This is not true!

Here is a copy of the Committee's actual plan, which was faxed to me by an employee of the Town Hall today- Monday, 3/23/09. It was confirmed also by a member of the Town Council.

Please take a look below at the Parking Plan. I have circled the relevant portions. Please note that it says "Raphael Semmes 34 Parking Spots" on the left of the document, on the right side of the street, it shows 12 diagonal parking spots on the north side of the street, and 22 spots on the south side. 22 + 12 = 34 diagonal parking spots.
